Match Report: VCF exit Spanish Super Cup (1-3)
Valencia CF were in midweek action in the new-look Spanish Super Cup semi-final at the King Abdullah Stadium in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia against Real Madrid on Wednesday the 8th of January at 8 pm kick-off time (CET).
Valencia CF had were pushed on the back foot in the early going of the game with the opposition knocking the ball around. Toni Kross made it 0-1 to Real Madrid over the 15-minute mark.

Valencia CF found a foothold in the game over the halfway mark in the game having a bit more possession. Kevin Gameiro had the first chance of the game following a quick exchange between Ferran Torres and Dani Parejo but The Frenchman’s drive went over the crossbar.

Luka Modrić made it 0-3 to Real Madrid and Kevin Gameiro made way for Denis Cheryshev. Maxi Gómez had the first shot on target which went straight at Thibaut Courtois and a minute later, Carlos Soler worked the Belgian again.

Valencia CF were awarded an injury-time penalty kick for a Sergio Ramos handball following a VAR check. Dani Parejo stepped up and dispatched it into the roof of the net beyond Thibaut Courtois to grab a consolation goal for Valencia CF.
The match finished 1-3 to Real Madrid. Valencia CF will be back in domestic action to visit RCD Mallorca on Saturday the 19th of January at 12 pm kick-off time at Son Moix on Matchday 20 of LaLiga Santander.
